Chief Medical Executive

    Dr. Goldman, Chief Executive Physician, has spent a long and distinguished academic career in Neurosurgery focused primarily on computer aided brain surgery and since 1996 heavily centered on Radiosurgery. Trained at the Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center in New York in neurosurgery after completing a doctoral degree in Neuropharmacology at New York Medical College, he began his clinical practice at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1978 becoming Chief of the division in 1984 and Full Professor in 1987.     In 1994 he was recruited to Jefferson Medical College as Vice Chair, Head of the Gamma Knife Program and Director of The Center for Minimally Invasive Brain Surgery. At Jefferson he developed a unique surgical technique to approach frontal brain tumors through an eyebrow incision and was the first neurosurgeon in the country to employ a robotic microscope to enhance accuracy and safety in complex brain surgery. In 1999 he became Professor and Chairman of the merged Hahnemann/Medical College of Pennsylvania Department of Neurosurgery.     In 2004 he was recruited to Cooper University Medical Center to create an academic department of Neurosurgery which was realized in 2006 and a Cooper Neurological Institute (CNI) in 2010. The Department of Neurosurgery and the CNI grew to national prominence over his tenure. After stepping down as CNI Director in 2019 he joined ARC Therapeutics as Chief Medical Executive with the goal of joining the academic and entrepreneurial world into a potent force to fight metastatic brain disease which was his passion while at Cooper Medical School.
